We went camping on private lands deep inside Sunol Regional Park. This Ranch belongs to Auntie M's in-laws and has been in the family since the 1930s. That's why it's deep in a regional park in the middle of the bay area. And they were really nice to invite me and my savages out there. The picture below is before we pulled out of our driveway, nice and clean.
Less than an hour later we get to the Ranch and the first thing Jake does is play in the dirt.
This is what he looked like all weekend.
The rest of the weekend was spent drinking beer, eating a ton of food, shooting cannonballs out of a homemade cannon and throwing rocks into the creek. Mostly a lot of beer and throwing rocks into the creek.
That's Bekah's rock-throwing face.
We chilled watermelons in the creek old school style.
Jake made a new friend this weekend. This is Henry, a 9 month old labradoodle and he likes to fetch rocks. He actually holds his breath, sticks his head under water and retrieves rocks. And Jake thought that was the funniest thing he had ever seen in his life.

Daisy also dives under water and fetches rocks! She stacks them in little piles on the beach "Blair Witch" style and everyone thinks it is hillarious! I don't know if Christopher has seen it yet, we will have to make sure he gets the chance. I never knew other dogs did that!!! Love it, seems like you had a great 4th and that is SO awesome that it is so close to home. I would be there almost every weekend if I could.
Way too cute!! I love all the pictures you take. Your weekend, reminds me of when I went camping as a kid with lots of family too, but in a tent. Good times as a kid dirt and all. The parents had their drinks- gin or vodka fizzes(moms) dads had beer. Ahh memories.
LOL that is so funny that Daisy fetches and stacks them. Must be a lab. thing. If this was my ranch I would be there all of the time too.
Danica we did sleep in a tent. Actually the kids slept in the tent and Erik and I slept on a an air mattress in the back of the van. We took out all the seats, it was cozy.
Can I just say Bekah is too cute! Your boys are too, but I just adore her facial expressions!
Thank you Mama Ashley, she actually smiled at birth. The nurses had never seen a baby smile at birth before and I have pics to prove it, very cute.
